This is from my LiveJournal. I would write something else, but I'm lazy and this sums up today so well:
AAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!
The above is half-scream of excitement, half-scream of anguish. Can I just say how incredibly... perplexed I am at the Grammy nominating people? I mean, BOWLING FOR SOUP GOT A NOMINATION. BOWLING FOR SOUP. Bowling For Soup. The infamous drunk group opened for Stereo Fuse (review in December blog). I'm so happy for them! Yay. That's so cool that the Grammys will nominate a little up and coming band, too. I don't think that's the little up and coming band that deserved the nomination.... but no more on that. Now for the scream of anguish part:
THE GOO GOO DOLLS DIDN'T GET A NOMINATION!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!! GRRRRRR!!!! Why do the Grammys hate them so much?! Why, damn it?! I mean, they're almost legends... they're GOING to be legends. I mean, why?! Why????? Oh yeah, no nomination for MB20 either. Sadness. I mean, both of those groups put out beautiful, life-changing (well, changing MY life, at least) albums, and the Grammys just act like they don't exist.
Okay, think about the good things, calm down. I had a happy day today. Hung out with my incredibly wondeful and cool friends and went skating. No, no signs of rink boy. I still had a good lesson. I FINALLY really started to get crossovers! Yes! And Rachelle complained about my inside edges... as usual. I love her, but sometimes, I just want to look at her and scream "I CAN BARELY SKATE! LEAVE IT ALONE!!!" Well then. Yes.
I had a radio meeting tonight. I love those, they're always so much fun. I'm hosting this week with Aric. Aric's nuts, we always step on each other's words when we co-host. But it's still fun. Oh wow. Justin got a new haircut over the break. Can I just say that I did not recognize how, well, good looking that kid is?! Okay, I will. I mean, I didn't notice until now. I feel kind of stupid about that. I'm sure he was wondering why I was staring at him.... oops. I'm airing a piece on homeschooling this week... should be interesting. I'm also determined to play some vintage Goo on the show.
Oh God, I mentioned Goo. I'm upset again now!
Love,
Phoebe
